Scoil Eoin Naofa is fortunate to have a Parents' Room which is located directly inside the main entrance to the school.
Mrs. Anne Harrington (HSCL) organises a variety of workshops which are offered to all parents.
Please keep an eye on school newsletters, notes in your child's bag, Aladdin and the parents' noticeboard for information on upcoming events.
Mrs. Harrington can be contacted on 085-7560609 and 061-416752 or you can call to the HSCL room if you have any queries.
The Parents' Association meets in the Parents’ Room on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month.
The meetings last for about one hour, sometimes less, depending on matters that may or may not arise. The School Principal, Mrs. Aoibheann Ruane and the Home School Liaison Teacher, Mrs. Harrington, regularly attend these meetings.
One of the aims of the association is to have one parent to represent each class from Pre-school to 6th.
If the Principal needs some feedback on any topic she will consult the association for their opinions. We are always consulted on the formulation of new policies and the reviewing of existing ones.
The Parents' Association also gets involved with school initiatives like ‘Bringing Stories to Life’ and Maths for Fun. These initiatives usually last for about six weeks. It is absolutely wonderful to see how confident the children become as regards their reading and maths from programme beginning to end.
We do a lot of fundraising. We organise events, which as well as raising funds, have proven to be great social occasions for the school community.
The Parents' Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) takes place in September/October.
We are always looking for new members, so come along and join us on Thursday at 9.10am in the Parents' Room

The teacher used standard scores to evaluate how your child performed in the tests. These scores typically range from 55 to 145. The table below explains what different scores signify about your child's achievement.
Standard Score | Interpretation | Approximate Percentage |
---|---|---|
130 and above | Very High | 2% |
120 - 129 | High | 7% |
110 - 119 | High Average | 16% |
90 - 109 | Average | 50% |
80 - 89 | Low Average | 16% |
70 - 79 | Low | 7% |
Below 70 | Very Low | 2% |
If your child’s standard score is between 90 and 109, for instance, their performance is considered average. Around half of the children in Ireland fall into this range. Scores can vary for children with English as an additional language or those with special educational needs.
Percentile ranks help compare your child's performance with others of the same age. For example, if your child scores in the 16th percentile, they performed better than 16% of children in the same age group who took the same test.
